| The Downtown Middletown Business Improvement District (BID) was established in 1991 as a special taxing district with a distinct mission: improve the downtown business climate. Each year it receives part of the city tax revenues from property owners within the district, which are used in its services as an advocate for present and prospective downtown businesses. The BID is an official organization of property owners committed to growing and strengthening the heart of the city. The BID serves as a liaison between business and city government, and is a resource for economic development and business placement. Those who run the BID are "in-the-know" because their successful businesses are located in Downtown Middletown. |
